Mark Severy is a research engineer at Schatz Energy Research Center and received a M.S. in Environmental Resources Engineering from Humboldt State University. His work has focused on building, testing, and analyzing performance data from a broad range of thermal and chemical biomass conversion systems. He has worked closely to research and implement projects with gasification, desnification, torrefaction, biochar production, chemcial reformation, biomass drying, and hydrogen energy systems. Before moving to Humboldt Sate, Mark received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and worked as an engineer in solar thermal research and development.
